A medium to full-strength smoke that delivers deep notes of spice, sweetness, coffee, and a smooth creaminess. The cigar’s dark Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed maduro wrapper covers a USA Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and filler leaves from Esteli and Jalapa. Located in Nicaragua these two regions are known for producing exceptional tobacco. The Aksum line marks the first time Foundation Cigars has incorporated Ecuadorian Sumatra tobacco in a blend. Foundation has already amassed numerous accolades in its short time in the cigar industry. And the mastermind behind it? Nicholas Melillo. He may be relatively young, but he’s already amassed 20+ years in the cigar industry. Starting at just 18, Melillo has risen from working in a cigar shop to helping blend cigars at Drew Estate, to starting Foundation.
Produced by AJ Fernandez, Aksum is the rebranded version of Foundation’s Metapa. The blend consists of Nicaraguan tobaccos encased inside a Connecticut broadleaf binder and finished inside an Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper. Expect a bold, rich experience ripe with notes of cocoa, cedar, and spice on the finish.
