Foundation’s Tabernacle line is one of the finest cigar brands we’ve tried in a long time. Starting in 2015, the brand has risen to great heights in such a short amount of time thanks to the brains behind the brand, Nick Melillo. Now, Melillo draws inspiration from his charitable work. After receiving the Knight Commander of The Ethiopian Star of Honor, Melillo quickly went to work on a blend inspired by the occasion.

Blended at AJ Fernandez’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, this cigar has some of the best tobacco Nick could get his hands on. This blend is comprised of San Andres Mexican binders and fillers from Nicaragua. The cigars are then aged 15 months after rolling. Expect a medium to full-bodied experience with notes of spice, cocoa, and leather with a long, rich finish. This gem is definitely from the top shelf. Additionally, Melillo pledges to donate all proceeds from the sale of Knight Commander to Ethiopian charities involved in various philanthropic initiatives, from scholarships to rebuilding churches. A good cigar, for a good cause.
