The Pledge Purple from Casa Carillo is a rare, aged expression of the original Pledge batch created by master blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo over 10 years ago. Rather than introducing a new blend, this tweaked blend stays true to the cigar that made the Pledge name famous, using the exact same wrapper as the original release, but now with 10 years of aging.
Wrapped in a Connecticut-grown, Havana-seed wrapper from the same harvest as the original release and aged 10 years. This gets wrapped over a new combination of a Mexican binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí, and Ometepe. The original Pledge built its reputation on a rich profile of cocoa, leather, earth, and pepper. With a full decade of rest, those flavors have had time to marry and mature, allowing the blend’s natural depth to evolve into a smoother, more refined version of the classic profile.
