Caldwell Cigars’ Long Live the Queen debuted in 2023, expanding the brand’s Long Live the King line with a distinct blend and stunning artwork. In 2024, the line expanded with the Long Live the Queen Maduro, tweaking the blend to include a Mexican Maduro wrapper over an Indonesian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and the United States. Made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic, Long Live the Queen Maduro is a sophisticated, medium- to full-bodied cigar rich with complexity.

- It was never going to be easy following up on Caldwell’s 94-rated Long Live The Queen. Not only did it get a high rating, but the original blend was also named the #14 Cigar of 2023. But after lighting up a few of the maduros, I feel confident in saying this blend stands up to the 94-rated original.
To start, the core of the cigar is comprised of Dominican and USA-grown tobaccos that are encased inside an Indonesian Sumatra binder. The cigar is then finished with a Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. To say the wrapper is stunning would be an understatement. It’s genuinely one of the smoothest wrappers I’ve ever seen. Expect a balanced and rich smoke with notes of espresso, earth, and hints of spice and cedar on the finish – definitely a worthy sequel.
